Summary
HMS is seeking a Claims Leader to oversee the activities of the Claims Specialists team to help support our Alaska Medicaid client. The Claims Lead works with Claims Supervisor and other leads in Claims Processing area in reporting inventories and strategizing process improvements. They assist in setting goals for the teams and monitor daily productivity.
Your role in our mission
- Reviews daily production reports
- Reports any production issues to Claims Supervisor
- Assigns daily work to Claims Specialists
- Assists employees with claims processing questions and issues
- Creates corporate required reports
- Is a first point of contact for claims processing questions from other departments
- Oversees the training of the new Claims Specialists
- Performs quality analysis of Claims Specialists daily production
- Creates quality analysis reports
- Assist Claims Supervisor in creating employee improvement plan for Claims Specialists as needed
- Assists in creating and approves changes or operating procedures for the team
What we're looking for
- Minimum of one year experience of leading a small team
- Experience working with claims; experience working with client services.
- Strong leadership skills, organization skills to independently balance and prioritize work, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with personnel; strong interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills.
- Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to use MS Office, including Excel spreadsheets.
What you should expect in this role
Work-from-home (WFH); or Hybrid model including in-office and WFH days to be defined. For positions assigned to WFH, reliable high-speed internet connectivity is required. Employees working-from-home may be required to report to the office, at times.to support work efforts.

The pay range for this position is $46,800 - 66,900 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
