Summary

As a Service Authorization Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting members and providers by handling complex inquiries, processing service requests, and ensuring accurate documentation across systems. This position combines customer service, data integrity, and operational support to help maintain efficient workflows and meet service level agreements. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, contribute to process improvements, and support day-to-day operations while delivering a high level of service in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Your role in our mission

  • Handles complex customer inquiries via phone and written communication, providing timely resolution or escalation as needed.

  • Researches, documents, and processes requests while accurately updating account histories and maintaining proper records.

  • Performs data entry, document matching, and mail processing to ensure accurate and up-to-date information across systems.

  • Monitors daily transactions, reviews reports, and ensures compliance with established policies, procedures, and service level agreements.

  • Collaborates with team members and leadership to resolve issues, improve workflows, and support daily operations, including mentoring less experienced staff.

What we're looking for

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. required.

  • Six or more years of customer service or high-volume telephone experience.

  • Proficiency with computer systems, including help desk software, and standard office/telephony technology.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate organizational processes and stakeholders.

  • Effective communication skills with the ability to work independently and follow written and verbal instructions.

What you should expect in this role

This is an on-site position in the Anchorage, AK office.

The pay range for this position is $44,800 - $64,000 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
