We are seeking an AI Software Engineer to support the development and modernization of a large-scale Java-based Immunization Information System (IIS). This role combines strong software engineering skills with AI-assisted development practices to accelerate delivery, improve quality, and drive innovation across healthcare technology solutions.
Your role in our mission
- Design, develop, and maintain Java/Spring Boot applications and REST APIs.
- Leverage AI tools such as GitHub Copilot and CodeX to accelerate development, testing, documentation, and code reviews.
- Develop configurable workflows, business rules, reporting, and user-facing functionality.
- Create and maintain automated unit, integration, and regression tests.
- Collaborate with Product, QA, Architecture, and Business teams to deliver healthcare and public health solutions.
- Participate in modernization initiatives and adoption of AI-driven engineering practices.
- Ensure code quality, security, performance, and maintainability.
What we're looking for

- 5+ years of experience in Java application development.
- Strong experience with:
- Java, Spring Boot
- REST APIs
- SQL (Oracle, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL)
- JavaScript/TypeScript
- Git and CI/CD pipelines
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, CodeX, Claude etc.).
- Knowledge of software design patterns, testing frameworks, and secure coding practices.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Healthcare, Public Health, Medicaid, or IIS systems.
- Knowledge of HL7/FHIR interoperability standards.
- Experience with configurable or metadata-driven application frameworks.
- Familiarity with cloud-native development and DevOps practices.

The pay range for this position is $97,300.00 - $139,000.00 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
