Your role in our mission

 

Play a critical part in ensuring Gainwell is meeting our clients’ objectives in important areas.

 

  • Leads the creation of all digital project deliverables with a unified site strategy and a consistent, accessible user experience.
  • Provides expert guidance on web standards, accessibility compliance, user‑centered design, and information architecture.
  • Collaborates closely with DHS teams, offering strategic recommendations, shaping creative direction, and ensuring all outputs meet federal accessibility requirements and industry best practices.
  • Develop all project deliverables with a cohesive site strategy and consistent user experience in mind.
  • Ensure all design and content outputs comply with project requirements and established website and accessibility best practices, including W3C standards, WCAG 2.2, Section 508, and 28 CFR Part 35.
  • Recommend standards, formats, and design options aligned with project goals and accessibility laws.
  • Apply DHS digital asset guiding principles to all design and content decisions.
  • Review and validate all mockups and deliverables for alignment with accessibility, usability, and technical standards before DHS review.
  • Create and refine site strategy, user experience design, and information architecture.
  • Provide initial creative directions for styles, formats, and design options.
  • Participate in all project meetings and offer expert technical and design guidance.
  • Utilize CMS and DAM systems to build, manage, and optimize digital assets.
  • Use website monitoring tools to identify issues, track performance, and produce reports demonstrating risks or successes.
  • Support content lifecycle planning and ensure designs accommodate long‑term sustainability.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams and contribute to a positive, service‑oriented project environment.

What we're looking for

 

  • 10+ years of IT, programming and graphic design eexperience with expert knowledge of W3C standards, web strategy, and web best practices.
  • Demonstrated experience applying WCAG 2.2 and Section 508 accessibility requirements.
  • Advanced expertise in user experience, user‑centered design, and information architecture.
  • Proficiency with CMS platforms, DAM systems, and website monitoring tools.
  • Strong collaborative skills and the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to diverse stakeholders.

The pay range for this position is $100,000 - $125,000 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
