Summary

As a Business Analyst Intern-Remote, you will support cross functional teams by gathering and analyzing data, documenting business requirements, and assisting with process mapping and workflow improvements. You will apply analytical skills and tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Excel, SQL, and MS Office while contributing to projects involving Procurement, IT Service Management, and Project Management. This role provides hands-on experience with ServiceNow, Visio, and technical writing, enabling you to help streamline operations and enhance business processes across the organization.

Your role in our mission

  • Support the development of operating policies and procedures for CalSAWS by conducting interviews, gathering requirements, and analyzing operational needs.
  • Draft clear, user‑friendly policies, procedures, and process documentation to guide operational teams.
  • Assist in planning and delivering training sessions to ensure successful adoption of new processes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the CalSAWS operating model and help define solutions that enhance efficiency and outcomes.
  • Contribute to building business cases, documenting requirements, and maintaining an optimization roadmap.
  • Support automation and integration efforts across tools to streamline workflows and reduce manual effort.

What we're looking for

  • Strong analytical and research skills with the ability to gather insights, conduct interviews, and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills to support policy creation and documentation.Strong organizational and time‑management abilities, with comfort managing multiple priorities across different workstreams.
  • Curiosity, problem‑solving mindset, and passion for identifying operational improvements.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams and stakeholders.Interest or experience in process optimization, business analysis, automation, or public sector systems is a plus.

What you should expect in this role

Paid Summer Internship - $20.00 per hour. Timeline: May 19, 2026 - August 7, 2026 (12-week program, 40 hours per week). 
•    Hybrid opportunity in Dallas, TX - Candidate must reside in the Dallas area and vicinity (30 miles around).
•    The deadline to submit applications for this posting is 3/31/2026.
•    Video cameras must be used during all interviews, as well as during the initial week of orientation. Photo will be taken for verification in all steps of the recruitment process.

The pay range for this position is $31,200.00 - $37,450.00 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
