Summary
Gainwell has an opportunity for an in-house attorney with labor and employment law expertise to provide advice and support regarding labor and employment issues and disputes.
Your role in our mission
- Provide strategic and practical legal advice to HR and business leaders on a broad range of employment law issues, including hiring, background investigations, disability accommodations, leaves of absence, compensation, performance management, disciplinary matters, terminations, workforce reductions, investigations, policies, training, outsourcing arrangements, and engagement of contractors
- Provide legal updates, guidance, and training regarding applicable federal and state regulations and statutes
- Monitor federal and state labor and employment-related laws and developments, and maintain knowledge and understanding of same
- Draft and review employment agreements, separation agreements, notices, policies, and other employment-related documents
- Oversee employment-related certifications required by clients and federal and state agencies
- Manage employment disputes and litigation matters, including evaluating liability exposure and developing strategies, overseeing outside counsel, coordinating witness interviews and document production, and attending depositions, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials as needed
- Other responsibilities as needed
What we’re looking for
- Juris Doctorate with excellent academic credentials from an accredited law school
- Active bar membership in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
- 5+ years of experience in employment law counseling and litigation
- Prior experience as in-house counsel preferred
- Expertise in U.S. federal and state employment laws and regulations
- Experience with India employment laws and regulations a plus
- Ability to collaborate and provide proactive and practical legal guidance
- Experience handling administrative charge and/or employment litigation matters
- Strong legal analysis and research skills
- Ability to foresee and assess potential legal risks
- Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to multitask
- Clear and concise oral and written communications

The pay range for this position is $129,200.00 - $184,500.00 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
