As an Associate Business Analyst at Gainwell for the Medicaid/Medicare Subrogation and Workers Compensation team, you can contribute your skills as we harness the power of technology to help our clients improve the health and well-being of the members they serve. Your role in our mission

Play a critical part in ensuring Gainwell is meeting our clients’ objectives in important areas.  Help create innovative, purpose-built technologies and solutions to deliver better health and human services outcomes.

  • Maintain an understanding of current business issues, objectives, and strategies within assigned business area and recognize issues and opportunities to optimally apply technology to enhance existing or build new business capabilities.
  • Assist in formulating recommendations to improve business processes to support operations and client needs. 
  • Be a knowledgeable bridge between clients, project managers, operations and technical staff to define business requirements, communicate expected results and ultimately final production results.
  • Translate high level business requirements into detailed requirements specifications.
  • Build basic data and process models to quantify the potential impact of changes to the system.
  • Analyze data using basic analytical or relational database software and/or analyze user interface processes to conduct preliminary investigation of issues and quantify the anticipated impact of work.
  • Work with other Business Analysts to ensure that business design is cohesive across all business areas impacted.

Create, execute or analyze test scenarios to verify that requirements are built into system design and functioning as expected.  Verify that all requirements have been met by validating results in production.

What we're looking for

  • Two or more years of business analysis experience translating technical goals and requirements into real action for clients.
  • Bachelor’s degree with a technical and/or analytical focus such as Information Technology, Data Science, Statistics, Business Analytics or related field.
  • Experience within the Medicaid industry supporting claims or eligibility data, business processes and/or technology preferred.
  • Basic understanding of the software development life cycle.
  • Knowledge of computer programming concepts such as configuration, development and batch processing.
  • Basic analytical and problem-solving skills and SQL query writing to assess business needs, analyze data and triage defects/bugs.
  • Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Excel and other software for conducting quantitative analysis.
  • Experience working development workflow systems such as Assure DevOps.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with and present information business leaders, clients and technical personnel by translating client needs to actionable objectives.

What you should expect in this role

  • Office hours generally between M-F 8a - 5p central time.
  • Remote option to work from Continental US locations.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule to accommodate business needs.

The pay range for this position is $41,400.00 - $59,100.00 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
