Summary

Under general direction as a Business System Analyst - Point-of-Sale (POS)/Unix at Gainwell, you will interface with the customer in developing requirements for major projects of considerable complexity; prepare system design specifications; conduct research to resolve customer-initiated issues related to Point-of-Sale (POS) claims processing.

Your role in our mission

  • Works closely with customers to elicit business requirements, coordinate with systems analysts to develop system requirements, and creates general system design specifications by developing technical solutions to complex business and system problems. 
  • Creates, reviews, analyzes, and estimates project requests. Represents the testing needs of the client and reviews/validates test results before presentation to the client.
  • Understands the connections between multiple State initiatives and their cross-impact within NJMMIS.
  • Fields direct questions from Gainwell Operations Staff and research for answers regarding business, technical and operations rules.
  • Supports real-time multi-tier systems through reading program codes and providing technical changes, requirements, and estimates.

What we're looking for

  • Basic understanding of working in Unix environment; able to move between directories, view and edit files. 
  • Must be familiar with Visual Studio, SQL and/or Oracle Data Base, be able write simple SQL select queries, read and understand applications in C and Cobol, JavaScript, HTML and .net.
  • Knowledge of NCPDP transaction and X12 270/271 transaction set is a plus; otherwise, must be willing to learn.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; problem solving and analytical skills; and attention to details.  
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at any given time and adapt to changing priorities and manage workload accordingly.

  • Need to be available to work 9a-5p eastern time
