We are seeking a highly skilled Power BI & Databricks ETL Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and analytics solutions. This role will be responsible for transforming raw data into reliable, high‑quality datasets using Databricks and delivering impactful business insights through Power BI dashboards and reports. The ideal candidate has strong expertise in ETL development, cloud data platforms, and data visualization best practices.
Your role in our mission
- Design, develop, and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines using Databricks.
- Ingest data from multiple sources including relational databases, APIs, files, and cloud storage.
- Implement data transformation, cleansing, validation, and enrichment logic to ensure data quality and consistency.
- Optimize Spark jobs for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
- Implement data models using Data Lake, ensuring reliability, versioning, and auditability.
- Design and develop Power BI semantic models, dashboards, and reports to support business decision‑making.
- Implement performance‑optimized DAX calculations, measures, and KPIs.
- Apply dimensional modeling concepts (star/snowflake schemas) for analytics use cases.
- Partner with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions and visual insights.
- Maintain data mapping documents, transformation specifications, and runbook inputs.
- Support multi-environment deployment activities across DEV / STG / UAT / PRD.
- Work with cloud data platforms (primarily Microsoft Azure) including Azure Data Lake Storage and related services.
- Implement data governance, security, and access controls (e.g., row‑level security in Power BI).
- Support CI/CD pipelines for data and BI artifacts.
- Provide technical input on feasibility, risks, and delivery trade-offs to engagement leadership.
- Enforce delivery standards across documentation, peer reviews, testing, and release readiness.
- Monitor data pipelines and resolve data quality or performance issues proactively.
- Healthcare domain experience with PBM/PBA data, including pharmacy and program analytics.
What we're looking for
- Six or more years of application, web and product design and support experience across the development life cycle, with experience preferred working with Medicaid and Medicare technologies
- A strong foundation in software and product design methodologies, programming languages, operating systems, web development and application implementation across the development life cycle
- Expertise in application development policies and procedures; and analyzing costing/ and budgets to determine financial feasibility
- Experience supporting Medicaid analytics or state healthcare programs.
- Familiarity with enterprise BI integrations and governed analytics platforms.

The pay range for this position is $72,800.00 - $104,000.00 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
