Summary

The Data Loss Prevention (DLP) analyst is responsible for identifying, monitoring, and protecting sensitive data across the organization. This role involves implementing and managing DLP solutions, analyzing privacy / security incidents, and ensuring compliance with data protection regulations, including HIPAA. The DLP Analyst will work closely with various departments to develop and enforce data privacy and security policies and procedures.

 

Your role in our mission

· Implement and configure DLP tools and technologies.

· Manage and maintain DLP systems, ensuring they are up-to-date and functioning effectively.

· Develop, configure, and document DLP policies, procedures, and controls.

· Monitor data transfers and sharing to detect unauthorized access or data spillage.

· Analyze alerts and incidents generated by DLP tools.

· Investigate and respond to data security breaches and incidents.

· Conduct risk assessments to identify potential data loss vulnerabilities.

· Recommend and implement measures to mitigate data loss risks.

· Collaborate with IT, privacy, and security teams to address identified vulnerabilities.

· Ensure compliance with relevant data protection regulations and standards.

· Prepare and present reports on data security incidents and DLP effectiveness.

· Assist in audits and assessments related to data privacy and security.

· Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees on data protection best practices.

· Promote a culture of data privacy awareness within the organization.

 

What we’re looking for

· Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field.

· Hands-on experience with DLP tools and technologies (e.g., Symantec DLP, McAfee DLP, Digital Guardian). Experience with Microsoft DLP solutions such as Microsoft Purview is preferred.

· Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) are a plus.

· Minimum of 3 years of experience in information privacy and security, with a focus on data loss prevention. HIPAA and healthcare experience preferred.

· Experience with incident response and investigation.

· Familiarity with network security and endpoint protection solutions.

· Knowledge of encryption technologies and methodologies.

The pay range for this position is $65,000 - $75,000 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
