Summary
As the Director, Pharmacy Insights at Gainwell, you will ensure the streamlined delivery of reporting and pharmacy insights within Gainwell Technologies for the Pharmacy COE. You will play a critical role in shaping how our organization leverages descriptive and diagnostic output to uncover insights that inform client reviews and large-scale organizational decisions. You will direct analysis and serve as leadership liaison to present findings to Pharmacy leadership, clients, and vendors. You will determine best practices and implement improvements to current practices. You will also oversee the completion and distribution of client deliverables.
Your role in our mission
- Manage a team of reporting and pharmacy insight professionals responsible for leveraging technology and powerful data insights to facilitate increased quality, reduction of costs and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Apply knowledge of advanced data science within the healthcare industry to identify opportunities to increase efficiency.
- Work in partnership with key business stakeholders on process improvement opportunities.
- Maintain an understanding of current business issues, objectives, and strategies within Pharmacy and recognize opportunities to apply data science techniques to help solve problems and enhance business capabilities.
- Work closely with engineers to identify situations to enhance data model for increased efficiency and optimization.
- Oversee the use of data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI) to share ongoing insights.
- Function as a subject matter expert on reporting and pharmacy insights.
- Be an evangelist driving wider adoption of pharmacy insights across the enterprise.
- Build and maintain a highly effective team.
- Ensure team has necessary tools and training to perform their duties.
- Manage timely execution of information delivery.
- Provide and participate in staff development and training needs to encourage top performers.
- Ensure departmental goals are consistently met or exceeded and ensures adequate staffing levels to meet client deliverables.
- Manage assigned staff by facilitating resolution of concerns and employee relations issues and provide ongoing feedback, coaching, guidance and direction in daily responsibilities for projects.
- Manages performance of direct reports in accordance with the Performance Management Process.
What we're looking for
- Demonstrated leadership experience and abilities.
- Demonstrated knowledge of pharmacy operations and data, Government programs, Medicaid population, and managed care organizations.
- Proven experience with analyzing, monitoring healthcare plan data focusing on quality, cost, and compliance with Federal and State requirements.
- Creative ability to convert data findings into meaningful stories that can be shared with leadership to facilitate innovation and problem solving.
- Proven experience optimizing department processes to increase efficiency and ensure accountability.
- MS in Public Health/Public Health Administration or Computer Sciences or equivalent experience.
- SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as a proficiency with business intelligence and advanced insight tools.
- Experience working with stakeholders including the Executive, Product, Data, and Design teams to assist with data-related efforts.
- Experience with Data mining, Data Science, and Predictive insights is a plus.
- Knowledge of Payment Reform methodologies and related initiatives in the Medicaid space.
- Healthcare knowledge within a Medicaid and Pharmacy/Healthcare plan claims processing environment.

- This position is remote with up to 20% travel annually.
