Summary
The Agile Scrum Master is responsible for facilitating Scrum ceremonies, coaching team members on Agile best practices, and removing any impediments that hinder the team’s progress. The Scrum Master ensures that the team adheres to Scrum principles and Agile methodology while fostering a culture of continuous improvement. The role focuses on enhancing team collaboration, increasing efficiency, and ensuring the successful delivery of high-value software products.
Your role in our mission
- Lead and facilitate key Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Ensure that each ceremony is productive and time-efficient, helping the team remain focused on their goals.
- Assist the product owner and team in defining clear sprint goals and planning tasks to meet those goals.
- Serve as a coach to the Scrum team, ensuring that team members understand and embrace Agile values and Scrum principles.
- Provide guidance on how to apply Agile best practices in real-world scenarios, helping the team become self-organizing.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team.
- Identify and remove any impediments that block the team’s progress or hinder their ability to meet sprint goals.
- Act as a liaison between the Scrum team and external stakeholders to resolve conflicts and address dependencies.
- Ensure that the team has the resources and support needed to successfully complete their tasks.
- Ensure that the Scrum framework is followed consistently, and Agile principles are respected throughout the project lifecycle.
- Encourage the use of Agile tools (e.g., Jira, Trello) to track progress, visualize workflows, and maintain transparency.
- Help the team adhere to time-boxed iterations and promote sustainable work rhythms.
- Lead sprint retrospectives to identify areas for improvement and facilitate actionable feedback.
- Encourage the team to experiment with new practices, workflows, and techniques to improve productivity and quality.
- Measure and track team performance metrics (e.g., velocity, sprint burndown) to identify trends and optimize future sprints.
- Work closely with the Product Owner to ensure the product backlog is well-maintained and prioritized according to business value.
- Assist the Product Owner in refining user stories and ensuring that requirements are clearly understood by the team.
- Facilitate communication between the Scrum team and external stakeholders to align expectations and minimize disruptions.
- Foster a positive and collaborative team environment where all members feel comfortable contributing ideas.
- Address team dynamics and interpersonal conflicts in a constructive manner to maintain a healthy working environment.
- Encourage a mindset of collective ownership and shared responsibility for the success of the project.
What we're looking for
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Scrum Master in an Agile software development environment.
- Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum and Kanban.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and coaching skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and conflict resolution skills.
- Proficiency with Agile tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Trello) for tracking and managing sprints.
- Ability to manage and influence team dynamics and drive results in a collaborative way.
Preferred Certifications:
- Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) by Scrum Alliance
- Professional Scrum Master (PSM) by Scrum.org
- SAFe Scrum Master (SSM)
- Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)

The pay range for this position is $92,900.00 - $120,000 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
