Summary
As a Katie Beckett Disability Determination Unit Supervisor at Gainwell Technologies, you will lead a team responsible for evaluating Medicaid disability eligibility and ensuring accurate, timely determinations. This role combines clinical knowledge, case resolution, and leadership to support compliance with federal and state regulations. You will oversee complex case reviews, guide decision-making, and drive continuous improvement across disability determination operations.
Your role in our mission
- Supervise and support a team of Disability Reviewers responsible for evaluating Medicaid disability eligibility and ensuring accurate determinations.
- Oversee the review and analysis of medical, clinical, and evidentiary records to support disability determination decisions.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, including Social Security Disability standards and Medicaid program requirements.
- Prepare and present comprehensive disability appeal summaries that support adjudicated decisions, representing organizational positions through clear, effective participation in appeal hearings.
- Monitor team productivity, quality, and timeliness, providing coaching, feedback, and performance management as needed.
- Lead the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and program improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
What we're looking for
- Strong background in healthcare, clinical review, disability determination, case review, or related field.
- Experience interpreting medical records, clinical documentation, and disability-related evidence.
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience with the ability to coach, mentor, and develop team members.
- Knowledge of Medicaid programs, disability determination processes, and regulatory/compliance standards.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to manage complex cases and priorities.
