Summary

We are seeking a Lead Professional Auditor to assist in managing our Audit and Quality Program for the Wisconsin MMIS Contract. This role involves planning and performing moderately complex financial, operational, and compliance audits to ensure accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a team-oriented mindset, strong leadership skills, and the ability to work with limited supervision to deliver high-quality audit outcomes and mentor team members.

Your role in our mission

  • Conduct financial, operational, compliance, and information technology audits to assess controls, record accuracy, and operational efficiency.
  • Evaluate compliance with policies, contracts, and laws, identifying non-compliance and recommending solutions.
  • Analyze audit data, prepare formal reports with findings, and present actionable recommendations to management.
  • Perform special studies to detect fraud, strengthen controls, and reduce costs, providing operational improvements.
  • Mentor team members on processes, standards, and audit best practices while promoting collaboration.
  • Research current audit concepts and maintain expertise in modern methodologies and practices.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, computer science, or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Six or more years of experience in auditing, accounting, contracts, or information technology.
  • Knowledge of operating systems, business applications, and relational database systems (especially for IT audits).
  • Proven experience with audit concepts, practices, and procedures; healthcare or insurance industry experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with excellent communication abilities.
  • Ability to balance multiple tasks effectively and maintain confidentiality in a remote work environment.

The pay range for this position is $63,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
