Your role in our mission
- Manages routine aspects of preparation of tax returns; ensures compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations; reviews prepared returns to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Determines tax consequences of company actions; recommends strategies and policies for reporting facts and minimizing the tax burden.
- Works closely with external auditors and tax counsels to research discrepancies and resolve issues; ensures company tax obligation is optimized.
- Consults tax law handbooks or bulletins or appropriate parties to determine procedures for preparation of atypical returns.
- Provides taxpayers with appropriate information and advice to ensure correct tax form completion.
- Interacts with clients to obtain information on taxable income and deductible expenses and allowances as necessary.
- Maintains tax records for historical purposes; ensures records are up to date.
- Selects and hires employees. Trains and evaluates employees to enhance their performance, development, and work product. Addresses performance issues and makes recommendations for personnel actions. Motivates and rewards employees including providing salary increases, bonuses and promotions within allocated budgets and company guidelines.
- Prepares and recommends operating and personnel budgets for approval. Monitors spending for adherence to budget, recommends variances as necessary.
What we're looking for
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred
- Nine or more years of tax accounting or finance experience
- Five or more years of leadership or supervisory experience
- Experience working with tax laws and procedures
- Experience working with tax forms and processing
- Experience working with accounting principles and accounting software and databases
- Experience working with auditing and generally accepted accounting principles
What you should expect in this role
Remote
The pay range for this position is $88,900.00 - $127,000.00 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
