The Medicaid Batch/Application Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and supporting complex batch processing applications within Linux and Unix environments. This role provides technical leadership by guiding development teams through solution design, best practices, and issue resolution while partnering with business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable and efficient technical solutions The position requires close collaboration with business analysts, quality assurance, infrastructure, and project management teams to deliver high-quality solutions that meet client and regulatory requirements. The Senior Batch Developer will also participate in release planning, deployment activities, continuous process improvement initiatives, and the adoption of modern development practices, including cloud technologies and DevOps methodologies.

  • Design, develop, maintain, and support complex batch processing applications within Linux and Unix environments, ensuring reliable and scalable solutions for Medicaid business operations.
  • Provide technical leadership by mentoring developers, guiding solution design, conducting code reviews, and supporting all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle in Agile and Waterfall environments.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, architects, quality assurance teams, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions that meet client, regulatory, and operational needs.
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex application and database issues using SQL Server and/or Oracle, performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions to improve system performance and stability.
  • Support change management, release planning, production deployments, and continuous improvement initiatives while helping drive modernization efforts through automation, cloud technologies, and DevOps best practices.
  • Contribute to the design and support of Medicaid healthcare systems, including claims processing, reference systems, PBM, Drug Rebate, ProdDur, batch processing environments, and other mission critical healthcare applications.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, process flows, and support materials to ensure knowledge sharing, compliance, and operational excellence.

What we're looking for

  • 5+ years of experience in Application Development, Technical Leadership, and Batch Programming using C, Unix, and Linux, with experience in system integration, automation, XML, and scripting.
  • 5+ years of experience Leading Technical Teams, Mentoring Developers, and Supporting all phases of the SDLC in Agile and Waterfall environments.
  • 5+ years of experience in SQL Server and/or Oracle, including Database Querying, Data Analysis, Troubleshooting, Root Cause Analysis, and Implementation of Corrective Actions.
  • Experience with Change Management, Release Planning, Production Deployments, and Cloud Platforms such as Azure and/or AWS, supported by strong organizational, analytical, and project management skills.
  • Preferred experience supporting the following Medicaid Healthcare Systems Areas: Claims/Reference, PBM, batch processing environments, interChange, Drug Rebate, ProdDur, and other regulated healthcare applications.

The pay range for this position is 72,800 - 104,000 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
