Summary

The Pharmacist Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing all the Ohio Pharmacy Benefit Manager Prior Authorization pharmacists.  

The position will work closely with the Call Center Manager for day-to-day operations.  

The position will report to the PBM Operations Manager to ensure consistency in programs for the Medicaid recipient and facilitates effective interfaces among team members, providers, and Medicaid recipients.  

Pharmacist Supervisor is also responsible for ensuring the day-to-day implementation of Medicaid services, policies, and procedures and meeting of contractually required service level agreements (SLA) and key performance indicators (KPI) related to the prior authorization services.  
 

Your role in our mission

•    Oversight/Supervisor of Pharmacist working in Prior Authorization Department

•    Reviews and approves training curriculum to ensure staff are appropriately trained.

•    Oversee hiring, onboarding, and training of new staff

•    Continually monitors, assesses, and recommends improvement of the pharmacist process

•    Ensures all Procedure Manual is kept up to date

•    Attends Gainwell Technologies and customer meetings, policy work groups as appropriate

•    Responsible for making the final clinical decision on pharmacy issues referred to Gainwell from the State.

•    Day to Day management of up to 25 staff

•    Performance reviews to evaluate staff on quality and performance metrics

•    Ensures Contracted Service Level Agreements requirements are met

•    Maintains required staffing levels to meet contract performance standards

•    Produce status reports on prior authorization operations as required by State contract requirements.
 

What we're looking for

•    Registered Pharmacist or PharmD. 

•    Qualified by education or experience to provide oversight 

•    Licensed and in good standing with the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy

•    Previous Supervise experience is required

•    Experience with Medicaid and Prior Authorizations processes

•    Ability to perform clinical medication reviews using relevant compendia and clinical trial data

What you should expect in this role

•   Hybrid or Remote positions – will require to be in Columbus Ohio office for Gainwell or Department of Medicaid meetings
