Summary
Platform Middleware Engineer is responsible to design and implement application run-time environments on hybrid cloud environments at scale. This engineer will closely work with the product engineering teams to implement solutions that need web apps, application servers and any integration that is needed to develop the product. The engineer will also work closely with the SRE team to implement automation and observability for the platforms.

Essential Job Responsibilities
- Oversee, design, implement, and manage application runtime capabilities using cloud-native and cloud-agnostic approaches.
- Designs, implements, and deploys application platforms on hybrid clouds to support and meet business needs.
- Identifies, recommends, and implements opportunities for improvement and performance issue solutions.
- Provides advanced level technical support and ensures reliable operation of hybrid cloud environments.
- Troubleshoots software systems on multiple cloud computing platforms and system integration into existing cloud computing platforms.
- Maintains comprehensive technical knowledge of software and infrastructure platforms.
- Develops technical standards. Tests and evaluates IT vendor products.
- Provisions and maintain system administration by automation using Infrastructure as a code.
- Reviews configuration parameters to optimize system performance and maximize operation uptime.
- Provides follow up production support. Submits change control requests and documents.
- Learns and understands client area business functions and requirements. Determines the appropriate technical tool to address the client's business needs.
- Participate in system design consulting, platform management, capacity planning and launch reviews.
- Collaborate with site reliability engineering team and stays current on trends such as observability-driven development and chaos engineering.

What we're looking for
- 5+ years of relevant work experience in Cloud, System administration or middleware administration.
- Background in systems administration and experience with AWS/Azure is preferred.
- Experience with middleware application runtime, webservers and load balancers ( e.g. Oracle Weblogic, Apache Webserver, Tomcat, AWS load balancer, Azure load balancer )
- Experience with container technologies and supporting tools (e.g. Docker Swarm, Podman, Kubernetes, Mesos).
- Experience with working in cloud ecosystems (e.g. AWS, VMware Tanzu, Red Hat Openshift, Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure).
- Experience with managing Low-code platform and integrations like ( Appian, Outsystems, Drools, Kafka etc.)
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools (e.g. Datadog, Splunk, Cloudwatch, NewRelic, ELK, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry).
- Experience with configuration management systems (e.g. Puppet, Ansible, Chef, Salt, Terraform).
- Experience working with continuous integration/continuous deployment tools (e.g. Git, Azure Devops, Jenkins, Artifactory).
- Experience with Agile and DevOps development methodologies.
- Experience with incident and response management.

The pay range for this position is $71,100.00 - $101,600.00 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
