Summary
The Principal Business Analyst – Requirements Validation (RV) is a senior-level role responsible for leading the most complex and high-impact requirements validation initiatives. This role serves as the primary driver for ensuring requirements alignment with contractual obligations, eliciting requirements from stakeholders, and delivering client-ready artifacts that demonstrate how requirements are met. The Principal BA acts as a trusted advisor to clients, leads the RVS team, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality solutions. This role also leverages expertise in contractual analysis, facilitation, and Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) tools to enhance the end-to-end requirements validation process. Your role in our mission
- Leads the interpretation of requirements from contractual documents, identifying key deliverables and priorities.
- Conducts advanced requirements elicitation sessions with stakeholders, utilizing techniques such as interviews, workshops, and focus groups.
- Ensures that elicited requirements are clearly documented, traceable, and aligned with project scope and contractual obligations.
- Oversees the end-to-end RVS process, including planning, execution, and delivery of client-ready artifacts.
- Defines the strategy for RVS discussions, ensuring alignment with project goals and stakeholder expectations.
- Leads the preparation of demonstrations and "How Requirements Are Met" documentation to support client validation.
- Serves as the primary liaison between internal teams, external stakeholders, and project leadership to ensure alignment and consensus.
- Guides and facilitates RVS sessions, ensuring active participation and addressing stakeholder concerns.
- Anticipates and resolves conflicts or challenges, driving collaborative solutions to maintain project momentum.
- Drives the creation, review, and finalization of RVS artifacts, including requirements traceability matrices, process flows, and demonstration scripts.

- Ensures documentation accuracy, completeness, and adherence to organizational and project standards.
- Oversees the organization and publication of artifacts within ALM tools, ensuring traceability from requirements to optimize design, configuration and testing.
- Provides leadership and mentorship to junior and senior business analysts, fostering skills development and knowledge sharing.
- Establishes best practices for requirements validation, documentation, and stakeholder engagement.
- Represents the RVS function in client and internal leadership discussions, advocating for continuous improvement.
- Identifies potential risks and issues during the RVS process and implements mitigation strategies.
- Collaborates with project leadership to align on risk resolution and maintain project momentum.
What we're looking for
- Master’s degree in business administration, information systems, or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- 8–10+ years of experience in business analysis with a focus on requirements validation and solution delivery.
- Proven ability to analyze and interpret complex contractual documents and translate them into actionable requirements.
- Extensive experience with requirements elicitation techniques and stakeholder engagement in large-scale projects.
- Expertise in ALM tools (e.g., JIRA, Azure DevOps) and requirements traceability processes.
- Familiarity with healthcare, Medicaid, CMS, or MITA frameworks is highly preferred.
Required knowledge and skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage with senior stakeholders and executive leadership.
- Proven ability to build consensus across diverse teams and foster strong client relationships.
- Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills to manage competing priorities and deliverables.
- Advanced knowledge of ALM tools and their application in requirements validation and traceability.
- Expertise in documenting and packaging RVS artifacts for client consumption, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
- Proficient in facilitating high-stakes discussions and capturing key decisions and insights.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage complex RVS initiatives across multiple teams and stakeholders.
- Experience with risk identification, mitigation strategies, and driving issue resolution in a timely manner.
- Strong ability to oversee and align RVS schedules and deliverables with project milestones and deadlines.

The pay range for this position is $101,400.00 - $144,900.00 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
