Summary
The Professional Tax Accountant will assist with all aspects of the indirect tax function, including, but not limited to, accounting for indirect taxes, financial reporting/disclosures of indirect taxes, sales/use and GST/VAT tax compliance/planning including maintenance of all applicable exemptions, managing the tax inbox and Ariba tax exceptions, managing and paying bills for property taxes, unclaimed property and business licenses, assist the outsource providers as needed. The overall goal of the Professional Tax Accountant will be to assist with minimizing cash indirect taxes through effective tax avoidance planning and minimizing enterprise-wide tax risk, while always considering cost/benefit.
Your role in our mission
- Assist with maintaining the Property Tax, Sales/Use GST/VAT and Unclaimed Property compliance.
- Assist with property tax renditions, payments, and valuation disputes.
- Assist the outsource providers as needed.
- Manage the Tax inbox and Ariba tax exceptions.
- Assist with the setup and maintenance of Vertex sales/use tax software.
- Assist with compliance of internal SOX controls relating to the indirect tax function.
- Assist with the collection and retention of all applicable sales/use tax exemption and resale certificates.
- Learn fundamentals of research and memo documentation on tax and non-tax issues as needed.
- Assist with internal and external audits relating to indirect taxes.
- Assist with efforts to improve team effectiveness and process efficiency.
- Assist with achieving finance operational objectives by ensuring productivity, quality and customer service standards are met.
- Will learn HIPPA privacy and security rules.
- Will analyze information and use logic and process to address work-related issues and problems, while prioritizing deadlines.
- May possibly be needed to work extended periods of time without relief when responding to priority/emergency situations (including overtime assignments).
What we're looking for
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred
- Three (3) or more years of experience in accounting or finance with focus on indirect taxes including property tax, sales and use tax and unclaimed property
- Experience working with tax research, tax laws, tax forms and processing
- Experience working with accounting principles and accounting software and databases
- Previous experience or willingness to learn PeopleSoft and/or SAP.
What you should expect in this role
- This opportunity is 100% remote, but the selected person will be based in the U.S.A.
- This is a full-time permanent regular salaried (W-2) employee position.

- For all hybrid and remote positions employees' Broadband Internet connections, should have a minimum speed of 24MBS download and 8 MBS upload. Greater speeds will of course provide better performance.
- Video cameras must be used during all interviews, as well as during the initial week of orientation if hired. There will be a total of 3-4 interviews done before an applicant is selected
- This position will remain posted until October 20, 2025. The intended start date for this role is December 1, 2025.

The pay range for this position is $52,900.00 - $75,600.00 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
