Your role in our mission

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Analyze request for proposal (RFP) requirements and create shell files in accordance with RFP requirements and are compliant with brand guidelines. Identify and escalate issues or concerns that need resolution prior to submission of response.
  • Develop and manage conventions document (i.e., term sheet) for each bid that is aligned with RFP standards.
  • Provide editing and writing assistance for proposals and related documents, contributing to the creation of formats and guidelines that guarantee the final product upholds the organization’s quality and branding.
  • Independently write, review, and revise content for proposals and related documents to ensure content is compelling and accurately describes solutions, strategies, and vision. Content must also embody company win themes and include key differentiators.
  • Establish and enhance document standards in line with client and organizational standards and procedures. Assist proposal teams by providing standard language, sample text, and support with formatting and editing resumes and biographies, ensuring uniformity in voice, style, punctuation, spelling, and grammar.
  • Monitor and analyze feedback on proposal drafts and related documents and makes necessary adjustments.
  • Complete final document formatting and prepare the document for production, including but not limited to the establishment of table of contents, figure/table numbering and naming. Ensure that all documents meet RFP requirements (e.g., page limits, font size/type).
  • Assist with the final proposal production and quality check.
  • Assist other department staff as required based upon business needs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Strong editing, writing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple deadlines and work well under extreme pressure.
  • Good interpersonal and presentation skills for interacting with team members, prospective clients, and other diverse audiences.
  • Knowledgeable of concepts, practices, and procedures related to publication production, writing, and editorial processes, such as reviewing, editing, and providing feedback on proposal content authorized by team members.
  • Understanding of proposal/project management responsibility and follow through with objectives to meet all crucial deadlines.
  • Ability to articulate and present the business value of company solutions.
  • Ability to create and maintain formal and informal networks, as well as represent them.

Education and/or Experience Requirements

  • BA or equivalent experience in Business Management, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or English
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience with proposal editing or related business editing in a fast-paced, highly strategic, outcomes-oriented environment
  • APMP and PMP certifications are a plus
  • Experience with Medicaid FFS or State Governments is a plus

Computer Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office / Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint. Experience with Adobe Professional, Visio, Project, and RFPIO/Responsive is a plus.

The pay range for this position is $70,000 - $100,000 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
