Summary

As a Quality Improvement Specialist supports Population Health and Quality Improvement initiatives through data-driven performance improvement strategies aligned with client and organizational priorities. This role supports the Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) program, annual Quality Plan, and Population Health interventions. The specialist serves as a quality resource across departments, helping drive measurable outcomes, reduce variation, and improve member health outcomes through continuous improvement efforts.

Your role in our mission

  • Apply quality improvement methodologies and change management principles (IHI, PDSA, Lean, Six Sigma) to support Population Health and Quality Improvement initiatives.
  • Support QAPI program activities to advance outcomes, reduce variation, and meet client requirements.
  • Collaborate across departments to align and support Population Health strategies.
  • Facilitate and monitor cross-functional quality improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain quality documentation, including policies, procedures, committee minutes, and program materials.
  • Support compliance activities related to External Quality Review Organization (EQRO) requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What we're looking for

  • 3-5 years of experience in healthcare quality improvement, preferably supporting Medicaid programs.
  • Bachelor's degree in a health-related, business, or similar discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience applying performance improvement methodologies and tools, including IHI, PDSA, Lean, and Six Sigma.
  • Experience facilitating root cause analysis, process mapping, and performance improvement projects (PIPs/QIPs).
  • Experience analyzing data, identifying trends and disparities, and presenting findings to stakeholders.
  • Experience supporting Population Health initiatives and quality improvement efforts within a healthcare or managed care environment.

Knowledge and skills

  • Knowledge of healthcare quality measures, HEDIS, quality withholds, and population health improvement concepts.
  • Proficiency with data analysis and data visualization techniques.
  • Ability to gather, analyze, validate, prioritize, and document business and operational requirements.
  • Strong critical thinking, risk identification, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience supporting health equity and disparity-reduction initiatives.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships across teams and stakeholders.

What you should expect in this role

  • Fully remote options from most US locations and territories
  • May require 10-15% travel for client meetings

The pay range for this position is $51,900.00 - $74,200.00 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
