Summary

Senior Engineering Manager focusing on technology generally involves leading engineering teams to develop and manage software systems, products, and processes across various technological stacks. Their role bridges the technical aspects of software development with the organization's strategic goals. 

Your role in our mission

  • Leading and managing engineering teams: Building, mentoring, and managing a team of engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. This includes resource allocation, task assignment, and performance management.
  • Defining technical strategy: Setting the technical vision and strategy for software development within their domain, ensuring it aligns with the company's overall business objectives.
  • Planning and executing software projects: Defining project scope, timelines, and deliverables, managing risks and dependencies, and ensuring efficient and timely delivery of high-quality software solutions.
  • Allocates engineering resources across large projects and/or programs and provides ongoing evaluation of project status to ensure project commitments are fulfilled and objectives are met.
  • Partner with product managers, stakeholders, and other teams to define requirements and deliver solutions effectively.
  • Communicate with the project team leadership, recommend program changes as needed, and triage issues related to Engineering work and escalate as needed.
  • Support product and solution alignment with CMS Medicaid Information Technology Architecture (MITA) evolution and outcomes expectations.
  • Fostering innovation and continuous improvement: Encouraging creative problem-solving, experimenting with new technologies, and driving initiatives to enhance software performance, quality, and scalability.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders: Working closely with product managers, designers, quality assurance professionals, and other teams to gather requirements, manage expectations, and ensure smooth communication and alignment.
  • Staying informed on industry trends: Keeping up to date with the latest technologies and emerging trends to assess their potential impact and guide the team in adopting relevant solutions. 

What we're looking for

  • 12+ years of Engineering experience in a related area 
  • 6+ years of Leadership or Supervisory experience
  • Experience working with Engineering Processes and Procedures
  • Experience working with Department's overall Business Objectives and Goal
  • Technical Skills: Expertise in Software Development Methodologies, Programming Languages .Net, Frameworks relevant to the team's work, Cloud Computing Platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP, Databases, and other tools commonly used in the Software Development Lifecycle.
  • Experience with Medicaid, Clams Processing Domain knowledge.

The pay range for this position is $116,600.00 - $166,600.00 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
