Your role in our mission

HMS a Gainwell Technologies Company

At HMS a Gainwell company the Service Authorization Specialist analyzes inquiries through the use of personal knowledge of the particular functional subject matter. Augments knowledge with reference materials as needed.

  • Provides response and takes appropriate action to resolve. May interact directly with original requestor, advise others on how to respond or escalate to a higher level if needed.
  • Consults with management and/or business organization management to develop/implement appropriate response/resolutions for complex issues.
  • Monitors customer inquiries for a specific functional area, tracks progress and resolution of escalated inquiries.
  • Contributes to a shared knowledge database to facilitate response consistency and to document complex issue resolution.
  • Assists less experienced staff in developing appropriate responses.

What we're looking for

  • Two or more years of functional area experience (i.e. finance, human resources, procurement, information technology, etc.)
  • Experience working with fax machines, computer software and telephone technology.
  • Business and analytical problem-solving.
  • Good communications skills.
  • Ability to follow written policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Ability to read and interpret basically to moderately complex documents, such as operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and government/healthcare guidelines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, customer service skills, professional telephone and presentation skills, excellent organizational, time management and prioritization skills.

The pay range for this position is  $44,800- $64,000 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
