The Technical Analyst plays a critical role in bridging business needs with technical execution across one or more functional domains (e.g., Member, Provider, Claims/UM, Finance, Plan or VUE360). Working in close collaboration with Business Analysts and Configuration Analysts, the Technical Analyst ensures that solutions are technically sound, data-driven, and aligned with project and system architecture. This role provides essential support for data setup, testing, and decision-making throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), leveraging deep SQL expertise, an understanding of healthcare concepts, and familiarity with Data Element Dictionaries (DEDs).

Business & Domain Expertise

  • Translate detailed business requirements into technical specs and data models
  • Support business analysts with system data insights
  • Apply healthcare domain knowledge to validate logic and impacts

Technical & Data Skills

  • Use advanced SQL for data extraction, validation, and analysis
  • Interpret Data Element Dictionaries and document data flows
  • Perform smoke testing and validate configuration syncs
  • Manage reference data files and investigate variances
  • Write complex SQL scripts for data loads, audits, and validation checkpoints

Communication & Collaboration

  • Liaise between business, development, QA, and configuration teams
  • Document and communicate technical decisions and risks
  • Participate in design workshops and support cross-functional data mapping
  • Present solution gaps to ARB and CCB

Solution Design & Validation

  • Develop scalable technical solutions aligned with enterprise architecture
  • Conduct feasibility analysis and support testing cycles

Leadership & Support

  • Lead technical sub-tracks and mentor junior analysts
  • Provide analytical support for defect resolution and configuration validation
  • Perform root cause analysis for data schema issues

Expected Outcomes

What we're looking for

  • 3+ years of experience in a Technical Analyst, Data Analyst, or Healthcare Systems role.
  • Advanced SQL skills, including experience with joins, data transformations, and large dataset manipulation.
  • Strong understanding of Healthcare Systems and Medicaid Concepts, especially in relation to data and system rules.
  • Familiarity with Data Element Dictionaries (DEDs), Interface Specifications, and Integration Design.
  • Experience working in SDLC and Agile environments preferred.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.

The pay range for this position is $55,600.00 - $79,400.00 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
