Summary

We are seeking a talented individual for a Trust & Estates Attorney/CPA position who is responsible for the successful delivery of HMS Medicaid trust and estate recovery services to client(s).  Has overall responsibility for service delivery related to state trust and estate recovery contract(s). Is responsible for relationship management with internal and external stakeholders, and for revenue generation and client satisfaction.

Your role in our mission

  • Communicates company legal position to clients, attorneys, trustees, and other stakeholders related to trust and estate recovery cases.
  • Analyzes and stays current on trust and estate Medicaid recovery laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Serves as primary liaison with trust and estates recovery clients.
  • Conducts trust reviews and trust accountings. 
  • Works with company-wide resources to ensure key client deliverables and revenue goals are met.
  • Works with clients and stakeholders to shape procurements and identify opportunities for value added services.
  • Participates in procurement processes and RFP responses.
  • Introduces, negotiates, and implements new projects to expand scope of engagement.
  • Monitors competitor activity, legislative and regulatory initiatives, agency concerns and contracts.
  • Develops and presents reports and other written communication to the client and internal staff.
  • Interacts with HMS executives, supporting staff, state stakeholders including legislators and governors’ staff.
  • Ensures overall service delivery and client satisfaction for assigned market.
  • May supervise legal support staff.
  • Supports collaboration between account management team and operations.

What we're looking for

 

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Law degree required.
  • Must be an attorney licensed to practice in at least one state and must be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) 
  • Law degree with 1-4 years of experience in trusts and estates
  • CPA with trust accounting/audit experience
  • Experience with trust drafting, trust accountings and with estate administration.
  • Experience conducting accounting, audits and reviews of Special Needs Trusts and Qualified Income Trusts.
  • Ability to understand company’s legal position in relation to Medicaid trust and estate recovery cases.
  • Experience in one of the following areas preferred:
    • Medicaid
    • Government
    • Healthcare policy

 

What you should expect in this role

 

  • This role is 100% remote with up to 5-10% travel possible. Ability to train onsite in Atlanta, GA, is desired.

 

The pay range for this position is $108,500.00 - $155,000.00 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
