Summary
The Vice President of Bid & Solution for Enterprise is responsible for leading the strategy, solution, and execution of Request for Proposal (RFP) responses, with a focus on driving growth in Gainwell. This role includes overseeing a high-performing team, ensuring cross-functional collaboration, and continuously improving the bid process. The Vice President will leverage deep industry knowledge and business acumen to develop winning proposals that align with the company's goals and ensure a competitive position in the market.
Your role in our mission
- Lead the end-to-end bid process, ensuring timely, accurate, and compelling responses to complex client requirements.
- Oversee the development of complex cost models and ensure alignment with client expectations and internal profitability targets.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, technical experts, and executive leadership, to develop high-quality, competitive proposals.
- Works cross-functionally to foster a high-performance culture focused on excellence and innovation.
Develop a team for Enterprise to solution and cost responses to RFI/RFPs in conjunction with sales partners. - Provide leadership, mentorship, and strategic direction to the team, ensuring continuous development and achievement of both team and individual goals.
- Build and enhance team capabilities through coaching, professional development, and sharing best practices.
- Partner with sales and engineering leadership to define pursuit strategies, pipeline processes, and bid/capture activities.
- Establish clear goals, methodologies, and roles for cross-functional teams working on solution responses.
- Ensure seamless coordination across departments to meet submission deadlines and client expectations.
- Drive business growth by identifying new opportunities, particularly in the medical technology industry, and positioning the company competitively.
- Engage with senior-level clients and stakeholders, developing trusted advisor relationships to understand their challenges and align the company’s solutions accordingly.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to shape long-term strategies for market development, product priorities, and RFP-driven growth initiatives.
- Identify and apply industry best practices and innovations to continuously improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the bid process.
- Implement scalable processes and tools to streamline solution development and cost models to ensure consistent, high-quality responses.
- Conduct post-award reviews of solutions with implementation, engineering and operational teams to ensure alignment of execution to contracted agreements.
What we're looking for
- 15+ years of experience in RFP development/product development, bid/capture, or sales solutions, with a significant focus on medical technology or related industries.
- Proven experience leading high-performing teams and managing complex, multi-disciplinary projects.
- Strong strategic thinking, business acumen, and ability to develop competitive proposals.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with C-level executives, clients, and internal teams.
- Experience with financial modeling, contract negotiations, and project management.
- Master’s degree in business administration, healthcare, related field or other advanced industry experience.

- This role is 100% remote within the continental United States with opportunity to travel for work up to 15% annually.

The pay range for this position is $160,000.00 - $228,600.00 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
