Summary

GainwellRx is our solution and business platform to support states and Medicaid members across the country for prescription and drug related technology driven processes and member experiences. The Vice President of Pharmacy, Technology Product Strategy will lead teams directly and cross-functionally to drive system innovation, solution development, and roadmap governance for the Pharmacy Center of Excellence (CoE) organization, partnering with enterprise teams.  This senior leader will also interface directly with external state clients and the executive leadership team at Gainwell.

 

Your role in our mission

  • Reports to SVP of Pharmacy and drives technology investment strategy and prioritization for our PBA/Pharmacy Benefit Administrator systems & platforms, based on a firm understanding of client requirements and market needs.
  • Owns pharmacy product and technology investment roadmap and prioritization, partnering with engineering teams and Pharmacy CoE.
  • Drives roadmap spanning point of sale adjudication systems, Medicaid drug rebate systems, analytics, client specific solutions, and products.
  • Responsible for translating high level business and product requirements to technology requirements for product engineering teams.
  • Supports enterprise processes in technology development and agile methodologies.
  • Drives and supports external technology partnerships and augmentation of internal systems for full suite of solutions supporting State clients.
  • Supports client implementation priorities, strategies, and initiatives, as well as new business bids and proposals.
  • Oversees pharmacy specific technology vendor partnership relationships.
  • Drives governance process to changes in prioritization as well as communication and alignment with partner teams including the broader Pharmacy CoE organization, Customer Experience, sales and account management, as well as other product and technology platforms at Gainwell.
  • Partners with Pharmacy CoE peers on innovation.
  • Manages and develops talent. Motivates teams through change and high-profile projects and initiatives.
  • Ensures alignment with company and industry standards.
  • Serves as a key leader in the pharmacy business interfacing with state pharmacy teams and representatives.
  • Supports strategic priorities and evolution of organization.

 

What we’re looking for

  • Advanced degree in business, technology, or commensurate experience.
  • 10+ years of pharmacy or pharmacy benefit administrator technology specific related experience.
  • 10+ years leading teams and large cross-functional organizations.
  • Innovative forward thinker with a product mindset and excellent leadership skills.
  • Excellent communications skills, with ability to communicate externally and with senior leaders and c-suite executives.
  • Experience in claims adjudication, utilization management and prior authorization.
  • Excellent project management skills and ability to drive clear and consistent processes.
  • Self-directed and motivated to deliver results, architects end to end processes.
  • Experience coaching and managing teams in delivery of technology system and product requirements.
  • Ability to drive teams through complex technology decisions and deliver results.
  • Comfort with driving and experiencing change, helping to drive constant reprioritization in a rapidly evolving environment.
  • Experience interacting with clients in the healthcare industry.
  • Track record of leadership of teams and projects spanning people, process, and technology.
  • Strong Power Point, Excel, and Data Analysis skills are critical.
  • Experience in Medicaid is preferred.

 

What you should expect in this role

  • This position is 100% remote, with approximately 20% travel to support key client meetings.
