As a ​Senior Programmer Analyst (UNIX/C/SQL) at Gainwell, you will be a part of an innovative healthcare technology company with a mission to serve the healthcare needs of our communities. Your role in our mission

  • Gather business requirements, understand existing system and design to improve existing software systems, and develop solutions per business and technical requirements
  • Analyze information to determine and install a new systems or modification of an existing systems
  • Design, configure and develop components and solutions primarily for the Claims/Reference subsystems that requires an in-depth understanding of the Medicaid Management system and its components with an expert knowledge in C, Database Architecture, UNIX Shell Scripting and Perl
  • Develop and proof the software systems and identify change needed to assure the implementation of a quality software product
  • Design and implement robust, reliable and high-performance database procedures and queries, using Advanced Oracle SQL, PL/SQL techniques, to retrieve data for use in different reports and Pro*C Modules. This would also include extracting, comparing and managing data across multiple schemas or databases, query optimization, debugging and performance tuning of PL/SQL code, daily.
  • Analyze large XML files and design or modify programs using XML parsing and/or DOM traversal techniques
  • Design, develop and modify software systems to meet client’s needs, and implement proposed modifications and provide support if necessary
  • Play the role of a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for coding and enhancing the Outlier processing and Hospital Statistics & Reimbursement Reporting (“HSR”) systems
  • Create and maintain Metadata for the Rules Engine that has various Business Logic defined
  • Involve in customization, systems integration, systems configuration, program specifications, coding, testing and debugging
  • Prepare test plans and testing schedules, test and validate software systems procedures, and monitor applications and systems including coordinating installation of customized applications
  • Test new software systems for logic, syntax and accurate results
  • Monitor scheduled jobs, research and fix job failures, log and document all job failures
  • Ensure continuous availability of SOAP server and its related processes
  • Monitor availability of user and system space on the UNIX servers
  • Ensure availability of Claims reports on Documentum and Provider portals
  • Perform Disaster Recovery drill, whenever required, to ensure appropriate patches are installed on backup systems/servers and that they are fully functional in case of a failure of the main production system/server
  • Provide end users with system software support, issue resolution and training
  • Provide direction and share knowledge with team members in areas of expertise

What we're looking for

 

  •  6+ years of programming or testing experience with C language and SQL on UNIX and/or Linux.
  •  5+ years of healthcare experience is required.
  •  Experience with Pro*C, Shell and Perl Scripting 
  •  Experience with SQL, PL/SQL and Oracle
  •  Experience using XML parsing and/or DOM traversal techniques.
  •  Experience will all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)

The pay range for this position is $70,000 - $100,000 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
