Summary
As a Business Intelligence Developer(MS SQL/Data modelling) at Gainwell, you can contribute Contributes to the design and development of Business Intelligence projects through relevant project management life cycle according to project standards and user satisfaction. Projects may be planned or ad-hoc and likely to be complex and/or referred from less experienced staff. Projects may support multiple departments and entities(HR, Sales, Finance, Travel). Contribute as a developer who is responsible for proactively gathering requirements and who is able to work off a basic set of requirements to deliver a solution. Proactively identifies and provides recommendations for solutions to improve systems and business processes. This position may act in a liaison role between the business users/stakeholders and the BI. At times this position could include being responsible for mentoring less senior staff.

Essential Job Functions
- Create and modify complex SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and triggers in addition to the development of other database objects to support the overall solution objectives
- Develop data models to ensure that the data objects provided are completely and accurately represented
- Perform ad-hoc data queries in response to critical business needs
- Create and maintain documentation related to applications, data sources, and ETL movement within the Corporate Analytics data environment
- Maintain and regularly update database coding standards, ETL processes and procedures. At times be able to provide guidance, training and mentoring to all the development team members on coding standards and best practices.
- Reviews and identifies opportunities to optimize SQL queries for optimal performance (index tuning)
- Design, develop, manage, and support all existing job processes to ensure service levels are met
- Implement automation of routine processes with appropriate monitoring controls
- Develop, implement and maintain change control / testing processes for migration of database Objects across environments.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science or related field preferred
- Eight or more years of experience in MS SQL development and Model Development
- Solid understanding of data lineage. Ability to breakdown and detail the flow of data from origination to consumption.
- Proven track record of solving real world problems using a design-oriented modeling approach in large data warehouses, data marts, and analytics/reporting platforms.
- Understanding of modeling strategies (dimensional, relational, unstructured).
- Robust SQL experience, used to design new platforms on cloud technologies/architecture including MS SQL, Azure, etc.
- Proficient with ERD/Data Modeling/IO Draw/Visio tools.
- Experience carrying out projects in an Agile environment.
- Having outstanding interpersonal skills with experience collaborating and influencing across all levels of the organization including written, verbal, and technology illustrations.
- Perform autonomously on tasks but are willing and able to share knowledge with coworkers and partners.
- Go-getter, self-sufficient, and willing to exhaust all research avenues before seeking help or discontinuing the search for answers.

- Capable of balancing multiple contending priorities.
- Experience with Kimball Data Warehouse design techniques.

- Preferred certification- DP-900: Microsoft Azure Data Fundamentals /DP-203: Data Engineering on Microsoft Azure
- Training skills to provide data-modeling and implementation training to less experienced personnel
