Summary

We’re seeking an  GenAI & Developer Productivity Engineer (GitHub Copilot, Azure) at Gainwell, to accelerate developer productivity and engineering quality by operationalizing GitHub Copilot (Business/Enterprise) across the SDLC, with a strong focus on secure, governed adoption. You will design and maintain Copilot customization assets (prompt files, custom instructions, reusable agents) for common .NET delivery workflows, and build supporting GenAI services on Azure where needed. You will partner with platform engineering, security, and product teams to define guardrails, measure impact (productivity, quality, and risk), and continuously improve developer experience.This role is strictly involved in the development of the product and does not involve access to Protected Health Information (PHI) & Personally Identifiable Information (PII) or any secured/confidential client data. The work is limited to application development and does not include handling or processing of sensitive health information.

Your role in our mission

  • GitHub Copilot Enablement & Productization Lead enterprise Copilot adoption by defining usage standards, governance, and reusable prompt libraries; author coding/architecture instructions; design guided prompts; and embed Copilot into GitHub/Visual Studio workflows.
  • Guardrails, Security & Quality Implement guardrails, enforce GitHub Advanced Security, integrate automated scanning into PR gating, measure AI-assisted development outcomes, and partner with AppSec/compliance on safe data handling.
  • .NET Engineering & Platform Integration Contribute to C#/.NET codebases, build developer tooling and automation, and maintain secure reference implementations and golden paths.
  • GenAI Solution Engineering Develop Azure OpenAI workflows (PR summarization, debugging, dashboards), implement prompt contracts and evaluation harnesses, and build RAG pipelines to enterprise knowledge sources.

What we're looking for

Must-Have

  • 5–7 years software engineering with CI/CD, testing, reviews.
  • Professional GitHub Copilot use: prompt design, custom instructions, reusable workflows.
  • Strong .NET (C#) skills with ASP.NET Core/EF Core.
  • GitHub expertise: branching, PR workflows, Actions.
  • Security-first mindset: secure coding, automated checks (SAST, dependency/secret scanning).
  • Azure fundamentals: service deployment, secure config (Key Vault, RBAC).
  • Ability to turn requirements into clear designs and production-ready code.

Nice-to-Have

  • Copilot administration (policy, adoption metrics).
  • Developer tooling/IDE extensions, CLIs, PR automation.
  • GitHub Advanced Security (CodeQL, secret scanning, dependency review).
  • Azure OpenAI, prompt evaluation, RAG pipelines.
  • Data engineering/analytics for telemetry and dashboards.
