Summary
As a Senior Instructional Designer at Gainwell, will play a crucial role in designing engaging and effective learning experiences, with a primary focus on video-based instructional content. Reporting directly to the Associate Director of Digital Learning, this role will involve collaborating with internal teams, industry experts, and external vendors to ensure the successful implementation of high-quality digital learning programs.
Your role in our mission
Instructional Design for Video-Based Learning:
- Apply instructional design principles to create innovative and impactful learning experiences, with a specific emphasis on video-based instructional content.
- Develop storyboards, scripts, and other instructional materials to guide the development of multimedia assets, including graphics, animations, videos, and simulations.
Content Development and Curation:
- Develop and curate instructional content, ensuring alignment with learning objectives and the overall program strategy.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to gather content and create engaging learning modules.
- Develop training collateral for ILTs, WBTs, and other formats like Nano-videos, inclusive of training curriculum, training course outlines, storyboards, training courses, and training evaluation
Multimedia Integration:
- Integrate multimedia elements, especially video, into instructional materials to enhance the overall learning experience.
- Scripting storyboards for different delivery mediums, such as WBTs, videos, vILTs, and ILTs.
Quality Assurance:
- Conduct quality assurance checks on instructional materials, focusing on the effectiveness of instructional design, clarity, and adherence to program standards.
- Iterate and refine content based on feedback and evaluation data.
Collaboration with Stakeholders:
- Collaborate with internal teams, including learning engineers and program managers, to understand program requirements and learning objectives.
- Identify and review technical materials, product information, engineering processes and conduct SME interviews to design content.
Minimum Qualifications & Education:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or a related field is required.
- 8-10 years of experience in instructional design, with a focus on digital learning and video-based instruction.
- Strong knowledge of training methodologies, adult learning principles, Instructional design principles, using instructional design tools, multimedia authoring software and best practices in digital learning.
- Proficient in using learning management systems (LMS) and other training tools e.g. Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong portfolio showcasing previous work in instructional design, particularly with video-based content. Familiarity with emerging trends and technologies in educational technology and online learning.
- Expertise in instructional design principles, with a focus on creating engaging and effective learning experiences.
