This foundational role offers hands-on experience supporting and leading strategic projects. The Professional Business Analyst contributes to project execution, stakeholder engagement, and continuous improvement efforts. With a focus on collaboration, communication, and process discipline.
Your role in our mission
Play a critical part in ensuring Gainwell is meeting our clients’ objectives in critical projects.
- Collaborate with project management team to gather business requirements and translate them into actionable documentation for technical teams.
- Be a knowledgeable bridge between clients, project managers and technical staff to define, document and share business requirements and expected impact.
- Work with technical teams to develop business specs for technical projects.
- Analyze, plan, design, document or make recommendations to improve business processes to support client’s technology goals.
- Help verify that all requirements have been met by approving and validating test results
- Assist in keeping projects moving as Gainwell helps clients deliver better health and human services outcomes through technology and innovation
What we're looking for
- 2+ years of experience in project coordination, project management, or related roles
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is required, with the ability to create and deliver professional presentations, reports, and data summaries.
This role involves gathering, analyzing, and presenting data to internal and external stakeholders. - Detail oriented with good documentation skills and the ability to juggle multiple projects at one time
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills; able to troubleshoot independently.
- Experience in sharing reports, managing workspaces and automating report scheduling
- Strong written and verbal communication skills—especially when translating policy and data into understandable insights
- Strong executive presence and communication skills is essential to deliver messages to business leaders, clients and technical personnel by translating client needs to actionable objectives
What you should expect in this role

- This position is a hybrid opportunity based in Frankfort, KY, with the flexibility to work primarily remotely.
However, candidates must reside within reasonable commuting/driving distance to Frankfort to attend monthly onsite or client-facing meetings as required. - Occasional travel may be required, estimated at 0–15%, depending on project needs and client engagements.

The pay range for this position is $55,600.00 - $68,000 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
