Summary
Gainwell Technologies is seeking a detail-oriented and mechanically inclined Printer/Inserter Operator to join our production team in Rochester Hills, MI. This role is responsible for operating and maintaining high-speed digital printing and mail inserting equipment to produce high-quality transactional mail pieces. From receiving print files to final quality inspection, you will play a critical role in ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with production standards.
No previous experience with printer/inserter equipment? No problem — we’re willing to train the right candidate with strong mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn.
Your role in our mission
- Operate high-speed digital printers and mail inserting machines with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Produce high-quality print and mail output that meets company and client specifications.
- Monitor and manage the end-to-end production process to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion.
- Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and basic troubleshooting on machinery to minimize downtime.
- Adjust machine settings as needed to maintain quality and productivity levels.
- Conduct quality assurance checks to verify that materials meet client and compliance standards.
- Maintain accurate documentation of production activities, quality checks, and machine issues.
- Communicate defects, errors, or technical problems to leadership for resolution.
What we're looking for
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent (no degree required).
- Experience: Previous experience with print or inserter equipment is a plus, but not required.
- Mechanical Aptitude: Must be comfortable working with machines and performing hands-on tasks.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to spot quality issues and maintain consistent standards.
- Team Player: Willing to learn, take initiative, and support team objectives.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
What you should expect in this role
- Work Environment: This role is fully onsite; no remote or hybrid options are available.
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (occasional weekend OT as needed)
- Interviews: Video cameras must be used during all interviews, as well as during the initial week of orientation.
- Travel Required: No
- Start Date: Immediate openings available
- Harver Assessment Requirement: As part of our interview process, all candidates must complete the Harver Assessment. This assessment helps us evaluate key competencies relevant to the role, including communication skills, multitasking abilities, and problem-solving capabilities.

The pay range for this position is $26,500.00 - $37,800.00 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
