Here are the details on the position of Dental Paraprofessional / Auditor.​

Your role in our mission

  • Evaluate dental claims, adjustments, and prior authorization requests against Medi-Cal Dental criteria.
  • Generate requests to dental providers for missing claims information.
  • Confirm that claims documentation is complete, complies with policy, and refer documents to dental professionals when required.

What we're looking for

  • Graduate from an accredited dental assistant school, or two (2) years of prior experience working in a dental office as a paraprofessional (dental assistant, registered dental assistant, registered dental hygienist, etc.).
  • Two (2) years prior experience in a dental billing and claims processing environment.
  • Good communication (oral and written) skills.
  • Expertise to support treatment authorization request (TAR) and claim adjudication, including familiarity with principles of dental radiography, such as orientation and tooth/structure identification.

What you should expect in this role

  • Must be a resident of California.
  • Hybrid work environment with 2 days a week in the office and as needed with the remainder of time remote work.  The office is located in the Roseville area.
  • Most benefits start on first day of employment for full-time employees.
  • In order to effectively work as a teleworker with Gainwell, employees Broadband Internet connections, should have a minimum speed of 24MBS download and 8 MBS upload.  Greater speeds will of course provide better performance.

The pay range for this position is $61,000.00 - $72,000.00 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
