Your role in our mission
- Analyze and apply policy across multiple situations, including client meetings and suspended claims.
- Serve as the expert on State policy and provide necessary consulting services to the client.
- Respond to client referrals in a timely manner.
- Recommend approved modifications and/or new processes to maintain competitiveness in the industry. Identify additional product or service opportunities within the client organization and follow up with the business development team.
What we're looking for
- Two (2) years of professional nursing experience required. Candidates with a Master’s Degree in Nursing may qualify with one (1) year of experience.
- Must be a Registered Nurse licensed to practice in the State of California.
- Training and/or certification in wound and ostomy care is preferred.
- Must have knowledge of professional nursing principles and techniques, hospital routines, and medical supplies and their uses.
- Must reside within 35 miles of the Sacramento State Capitol, California.

- Apply nursing knowledge, skills, and policy when processing medical claims.
- Attend client meetings and serve as a consultant and subject matter expert on policy.
- Demonstrate strong communication skills and collaborate effectively as part of a larger team.
- Contribute to the development and application of business and consulting services.
- Hybrid work environment. This is primarily a remote position. Occasionally, upon client request, the consultant will travel to the Medicaid Operations Center (MOC) located in West Sacramento.

The pay range for this position is $80,600.00 - $115,200.00 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
