Summary

As a Senior Business Analyst - Hybrid Roseville, CA at Gainwell, you will play a key leadership role in supporting the California Medi-Cal Dental Program (DBO) and related business initiatives. You will leverage your analytical expertise, healthcare industry knowledge, and stakeholder management skills to bridge business and technology teams, drive process improvements, and deliver solutions that support our clients' strategic objectives. This position requires strong client-facing engagement, leadership of complex initiatives, and collaboration across business, technical, and operational teams.

Your role in our mission

Play a critical role in ensuring Gainwell meets client objectives, operational commitments, and strategic business goals while supporting complex healthcare technology initiatives.

  • Lead and coordinate Business Analyst activities across multiple projects and operational initiatives while mentoring junior and mid-level analysts, providing guidance, quality oversight, and professional development support.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between clients, operational leadership, project teams, and technical resources to elicit, analyze, document, prioritize, and communicate business requirements and expected business outcomes.
  • Partner directly with DBO stakeholders and clients to develop business specifications, facilitate requirements workshops, identify business impacts, and support solution design efforts throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Analyze, document, and recommend improvements to business processes, operational workflows, policies, and system functionality to support organizational goals, compliance requirements, and client objectives.
  • Lead requirement validation, user acceptance testing (UAT) activities, defect triage, and solution verification to ensure business needs are met and implementations align with approved requirements.
  • Utilize advanced analytical tools, reporting solutions, SQL, Excel, and data analysis techniques to evaluate business performance, support decision-making, measure impacts, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

What we're looking for

  • 6 or more years of experience in a Business Analyst role, including 3 or more years supporting healthcare, Medicaid, Medicare, or government healthcare programs; experience leading complex enterprise initiatives is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of system development lifecycle (SDLC), configuration management, application development, integrations, batch processing, production support, and healthcare technology solutions.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, SQL, reporting and analytics tools, requirement management platforms, and Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) tools with demonstrated ability to analyze complex data sets.
  • Exceptional client relationship and stakeholder management skills with experience facilitating discussions, negotiating priorities, resolving conflicts, and translating business needs into actionable requirements.
  • Strong business process analysis, process re-engineering, root cause analysis, and problem-solving skills with a focus on operational efficiency and service delivery excellence.
  • Executive-level communication and presentation skills with the ability to effectively engage clients, senior leadership, business partners, and technical teams in both written and verbal formats.
  • Proven leadership capabilities with the ability to influence without authority, drive outcomes, manage competing priorities, mentor team members, and lead initiatives in a fast-paced client-facing environment.

What you should expect in this role

  • Hybrid work environment requiring onsite attendance at the Roseville, CA office a minimum of two (2) days per week, with additional onsite meetings or client engagements as business needs require.
  • Video cameras must be used during all interviews, as well as during the initial week of orientation.

This position may also require participation in client meetings, workshops, project reviews, and occasional travel to support business operations and stakeholder engagement.

The pay range for this position is $74,300.00 - $106,100.00 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
