Your role in our mission

  • Play a leadership role in keeping large projects moving as Gainwell helps clients deliver better health and human services outcomes through technology and innovation
  • Lead one or more large project management teams by breaking down bigger technological programs into manageable units
  • Create and implement complex project definitions, schedules, budgets, and objectives for a large sized or multiple projects of high complexity
  • Develop complex workplans (project schedules) using project planning tools (e.g., Microsoft Project).  As necessary, be willing to work directly within the project schedule document (e.g., MPP file) to maintain the plan and make status updates  
  • Plan and manage progress of the software development life cycle (SDLC) leveraging tools like Atlassian’s Jira
  • Oversee the integration of all project components, including scope, schedule, cost, quality, resources, communication, and risk.
  • Work in conjunction with team members and stakeholders to anticipate and manage changes to projects, such as but not limited to changes in project scope, schedule, business / functional requirements and technical requirements
  • Gain concurrence, approval, and consensus from stakeholders regarding various aspects of the project, and adjust course accordingly
  • Identify risks.  Develop, recommend, pursue approval of risk mitigation solutions, and implement as appropriate
  • Prepare and present regular project status reports to stakeholders, senior management, and client leadership.  Develop/prepare reports using Microsoft Project in a “PWA” (Progressive Web App) environment

What we're looking for

  • 10+ years of experience managing complex projects, programs, or initiatives through the full project management life cycle, with 3 or more years of Medicaid or Medicare experience preferred
  • Expertise with project management methodology such as Certified Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • Modern understanding of budget development, control and assurance methods
  • Ability to lead and translate the broader objectives of a program into clear and achievable project scope and milestones that can be worked toward
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Leadership traits to train, guide, and mentor the work of junior colleagues
  • A strong presenter who communicates ideas clearly 
  • Influencer that who can clearly communicate project priorities and motivate direct and indirect networks and stakeholders to action
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project and experience in working within the PWA (Progressive Web App) environment
  • Proficiency in using/navigating and technical configuration of Atlassian’s Jira for managing/tracking segments/phases of the SDLC 

What you should expect in this role

  • Remote position
  • Travel to our Roseville, CA office may be required as needed up to every other week
  • Candidates must be able to work Pacific Time Zone
  • Candidates must be local to the state of California
  • Video cameras must be used during all interviews, as well as during the initial week of orientation

The pay range for this position is $92,900.00 - $132,700.00 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
