Summary
Gainwell Technologies is seeking an experienced Claims Data Entry Manager to lead claims intake and data entry operations supporting California’s Medi-Cal program at our West Sacramento office.
In this role, you will oversee high-volume claims intake and data entry operations, helping ensure claims information is captured accurately, timely, and in accordance with contractual, regulatory, and operational requirements.
You will lead and develop supervisors, manage operational performance and inventory, partner with clients and internal stakeholders, and drive improvements designed to increase accuracy, efficiency, consistency, and overall service delivery.
Your role in our mission
- Lead claims intake and data entry operations, ensuring information is processed accurately and timely while meeting established contractual requirements and service levels.
- Lead, coach, and develop supervisors while fostering accountability, collaboration, employee development, and continuous improvement across the operation.
- Monitor claims volumes, inventory, turnaround times, productivity, quality, KPIs, and SLAs and implement action plans to address operational performance issues.
- Partner with clients, leadership, and internal stakeholders to resolve operational challenges, strengthen relationships, and achieve established business outcomes.
- Support internal and external audits and help ensure claims intake operations comply with established policies, procedures, contractual requirements, and applicable regulations.
- Partner with Information Technology and Operations teams to automate manual processes, standardize procedures, improve operational consistency, increase efficiency, and reduce costs.
What we're looking for
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience; a degree in business administration, insurance, healthcare administration, or a related field is preferred.
- Nine or more years of experience in healthcare claims intake, claims processing, data entry operations, healthcare operations, or a related function.
- Five or more years of leadership or supervisory experience, including experience leading supervisors, team leads, or operational teams.
- Experience managing high-volume operational performance through KPIs, SLAs, workforce planning, inventory management, budgets, client relationships, and continuous process improvement.
- Knowledge of healthcare claims processing, claims intake, insurance or medical terminology, policies and procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Strong leadership, analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and effectively partner with clients and senior leadership.
What you should expect in this role
- This is a 100% onsite position at our West Sacramento, CA office. Remote or hybrid work is not available for this role.
- You will lead a high-volume, metrics-driven claims intake and data entry operation supporting California’s Medi-Cal program.
- You will be responsible for operational performance, including productivity, quality, inventory, turnaround times, service levels, and employee performance.
- This position requires regular collaboration with supervisors, clients, business leaders, Information Technology, Operations, and other internal stakeholders.
- You will support process improvement, automation, audit, and regulatory initiatives designed to improve operational performance and consistency.

The pay range for this position is $84,600 - $120,800 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
